Des Moines, IA (KICD)– The month of March has come and gone but not before leaving its mark on 2023 with a little of everything being featured on the weather side.
State Climatologist Justin Glisan tells KICD News last month was considered cold when looking at normal temperatures with Spencer coming in nearly five degrees below average.
The precipitation side was a little bit more usual with a little over an inch and a half of liquid precipitation falling locally.
Glisan does stress it is not exactly out of the question to see some early Spring snowfalls like many in Northern Iowa have seen in recent weeks.
Then there was the early introduction of severe weather to the eastern part of Iowa on the last day of March.
Looking ahead, Eastern and Southeastern Iowa appear to be in the target for another potential severe weather situation on Tuesday with locations mostly north or our local area seeing yet another chance for wintry precipitation.
