Spencer, IA (KICD)– A Milford man was hurt in a single vehicle crash that is believed to have involved alcohol.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was called to the intersection of 300th Street and 330th Avenue, about six miles northwest of Ruthven, around 6:45 Saturday evening where a pickup was found to have lost control while navigating a curve causing the vehicle to leave the road and roll.

The driver, 65-year-old John Newgard, was taken to Spencer Hospital with what are described as serious injuries. He was also charged with second offense operating while intoxicated.
