St. Paul, MN (KICD) — The public has spoken, and the eight new names for Minnesota Department of Transportation snowplows have been selected.
Of the sixty finalists, the most popular names were- in order:
“Yer a Blizzard, Harry” which will be stationed in Southwest Minnesota. “Blizzo” in the Twin Cities Metro district. Our personal favorite “Clearopathra” will be affixed to a plow in Northeast Minnesota. “Better Call Salt” – Central Minnesota; “Han Snowlo” South Central; “Blader Tot Hotdish” Northwest Minnesota; “Scoop, there it is” Southeast; and “Sleetwood Mac” will go to MNDOT District 4 in West Central Minnesota.
There are now 25 named snowplows in the state. Previous monikers include”Betty White-out” and “The Big LePLOWski.”
There were 10 thousand 400 submissions this year and over 64 thousand online votes.
