Spirit Lake, IA (KICD) — We don’t know if it was “THE” moose, or “A” moose photographed in and west of Spirit Lake over the weekend.

The Spirit Lake Protective Organization posted two snapshops: one of a moose crossing the road, the other submerged to his shoulders in the lake. Last week a page set up to track the moose reported he was in South Central Minnesota heading back North after being spotted as far south as Orange City, then Clay and Palo Alto Counties. But there was also a report of a moose near Sebeka, Minnesota – just North of Alexanderia over the weekend.

That’s 250 miles from Spirit Lake and indicates there are TWO animals that have wandered South of their natural habitat this fall.
