Swea City, IA (KICD) — For the second year in a row, the North Union school district has the highest test scores in the KICD Broadcast area, and the Middle School in Swea City topped the state for that age group.

Middle School Principal Julie Runksmeier says it starts with school culture, where ALL students feel safe, and supported.

From there, Runksmeier says, there’s constant focus on the classroom.

The statewide average for all age groups was 54.81. The North Union Elementary tested at 54.92; the high school was 61.95; and the middle school was at 71.18.
Only two other buildings in the entire state tested higher.
