Sioux City, IA (KICD)– An Omaha man is going to federal prison on a weapons charge that originated from an investigation in Buena Vista County last summer.
49-year-old Mark Hadland pled guilty in February to possessing a firearm as a prohibited person after being convicted more than 10 years ago for theft in Nebraska.
Evidence provided in court showed Hadland was stopped by Buena Vista County law enforcement last August which led to a search of his vehicle and the discovery of marijuana, drug paraphernalia a cane concealing a large knife and a stolen firearm.
Hadland was given 33 months in prison on Tuesday and will be required to serve three years on supervised release following his time behind bars.
