Orleans, IA (KICD)– The Orleans city council is considering an offer for a portion of public access on Big Spirit Lake. Mayor Bill Maas says by law the offer must be considered at a public hearing, which was held last week.

 

The Spirit Lake Protective Association and many neighbors voiced their opposition to selling one of the few pieces of public access around the lake with one neighbor upper the offer by five thousand dollars.

The property is located at the intersection of Sunset Drive and 2nd Street – not to be confused with Sunset Park – several lots to the North.
