Palo Alto County Audit Completed by State

Des Moines, IA (KICD) — The State Auditor’s Office has completed its annual review of the books for Palo Alto County.

Revenue was down 14.9 percent, due in large part to fewer grants: capital grants decreased 1.7 million dollars and the money flowing into the country through operating grants was down 310 thousand dollars. The county also took in 1.3 million dollars less in service revenue and 227 thousand dollars less in taxes.

Spending was down 9 and a half percent.  Cash on hand at the end of the fiscal year – last June 30th – up 6 percent to nearly 3 million dollars.
