Spencer, IA (KICD)– Work is continuing to make progress on the North Y Gateway expansion project on the edge of Spencer.

Engineer Ross McWhirter with Kruse, Cate and Nelson updated the City Council last week noting the addition of underground utilities is moving along.

City Manager Dan Gifford added that above ground work is also making some progress now that Kwik Star officially owns the property where its new store will be constructed.

The city is also in talks with the Iowa Department of Transportation as far as what will be required as far as turn lanes are concerned when entering and exiting the subdivision in conjunction with future plans for the actual junction of Highways 71 and 18.
