Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– Public input is being sought for how a piece of property on the southwest corner of Storm Lake will be used in the future after it is handed over to Buena Vista County from the State of Iowa.

Jennifer Felton is a spokesperson for the Marina Property Subcommittee which was formed under the County Conservation Board to gage interest on three possible ideas for the currently unused land near Casino Beach.

Whichever of the three options is ultimately selected would require some additional funding beyond what the county currently has access to, but before the numbers can be crunched, Felton says there needs to be more of a precise idea of what will go on the property.

The subcommittee has opened up some online forms to find potentially interested parties in the full marina and restaurant and bar options. Responses need to be submitted by February 23rd.
