Okoboji, IA (KICD) — The Dickinson County Sheriff’s department has taken the unusual step of warning Winter Games Visitor’s NOT to drive on the ice.
Iowa DNR Conservation Officer Blake Mills says conditions on the lakes are variable and changing by the hour.

Mills tells KICD News his agency NEVER gives advice whether or not to venture out on the ice, saying it’s everyone’s responsibility to be aware of conditions.

Anglers are reporting thin ice just feet away from areas where it’s 12 to 14 inches thick.
