Des Moines, IA (KICD) — Tuesday night the Okoboji City Council sent a letter to Governor Reynolds expressing a concern over an apparent lack of progress on flood issues like floating debris and bank cave-ins. The Governor told KICD News Wednesday many of those issues had already been handled and provided more information yesterday.
The Governor revealed that she visited officials in Dickinson County Wednesday night, and a state permit that would replace the earthen dam at the South end of the chain with a bridge is now on the fast track.
As we reported after the Governor’s visit Wednesday, she’s praising local officials for working together on long-term flood mitigation plans.
