Sioux Falls, SD (KICD)– We are wrapping up Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa on Friday with a conversation on flash flooding even though we have not really had to deal with that much over the last couple of years.
Peter Rogers from the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says flash flooding is known as the leading cause of severe weather related deaths.
Rogers says those wanting to learn more severe weather and to know what to look for in a storm that may impact them can take a free class that is taking place around the area this Spring.
As in the past the Spencer Radio Group will again be the local source of weather information when storms threaten all summer long and reports from the public are greatly appreciated by calling 800-232-1240, emailing weather@spencerradiogroup.com, or by connecting with us on social media.
