Sheldon, IA (KICD)– Sheldon Fire officials are looking into a Wednesday afternoon house fire that has been deemed suspicious.
The original call came in around 4:15 for a fire at 1302 South 5th Avenue. Once on scene crews say they found heavy fire extending from the front of the home and flames rolling across the main floor ceiling.
Firefighters started with an exterior attack and set up a water supply since there was no hydrant in the immediate area as other crews gained entry into the structure to continue knocking down flames.
The house is considered to be a total loss and was not occupied at the time of the fire. The cause of the blaze is not known with the situation still under investigation.
