Sheldon, IA (KICD)– The City of Sheldon is hoping to see a continuing trend of community growth for the remainder of 2023 with the positive signs seen last year.

Community Development Director Curt Strouth one of the big projects slated for this year is an increase in recreation options in Sheldon including the addition of a trail around the Sheldon Crossings Pond.

Another big addition to the community in the coming months will be the building of new housing on the site of the old Bethel Lutheran Church nearly a decade after that structure was damaged in fire.

When it comes to overall goals for 2023, Strouth says city officials are continuing to push for even more housing which in turn will lead to stronger economic growth.
