Sheldon, IA (KICD)– A Dickinson County man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Sheldon over the weekend.

40-year-old Santos Beal of Terril was stopped on Sunday and reportedly found to be driving while barred which led to further investigation by the officer on scene.

Online court records allege a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a container that later was determined to contain methamphetamine.

Beal was then charged with possession of a controlled substance- third or subsequent offense making- making it a felony charge along with possession of drug paraphernalia along with driving while suspended and driving while barred.

He was released from custody on Monday is scheduled for a preliminary hearing later this month.
