Sioux Rapids, Ia (KICD) – Matt Groenewold had the call on Big Country 107.7 for South O’Brien and Sioux Central in Sioux Rapids.

South O’Brien got on the board first with a 43-yard field goal from Derrik Paulson in the 2nd quarter. Sioux Central would start off the second half well though, with Max Adams dashing for a Touchdown, giving the Rebels the lead. South O’Brien would respond when Willey Connly took a kick back 80 yards, giving the Wolverines the lead back at 9-7.

Sioux Central’s Owen Mills connected with Koen Gluver on a 6-yard Touchdown pass, as the Rebels re-took the lead with 2:10 left in the 3rd Quarter.

Devin Wilson would put an exclamation mark on Sioux Central’s first game of the season with a 30-yard touchdown run late in the 4th quarter. Sioux Central came away with the win, 20-9.

South O’Brien’s Justin Paulsen carried the ball 12 times for 53 yards on the evening for the Wolverines.

Owen Mills ran for 86 yards on 12 carries while Max Adams scored a touchdown on 25 carries and 70 yards for Sioux Central.

South O’Brien will host Sheldon next week while Sioux Central is at home against Cherokee.
