Hawarden, IA (KICD)– A teenager was hospitalized for injuries sustained in a weekend motorcycle crash in Western Sioux County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the bike was traveling northwest on Cherry Avenue north of Hawarden around 3:30 Saturday afternoon the the operator lost control after failing to negotiate a curve causing the motorcycle to fall onto its side, flip into the ditch and eject both occupants.

The driver, 55-year-old Jamie Kelsheimer of Windom, was not hurt according to the report. The passenger, a 17-year-old from Rock Valley, was taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
