Sioux Rapids, IA (KICD) — The Iowa Firefighters Association has named Dennis Williams of Sioux Rapids as the Fireman of the year for 2023. Williams has served on the department 35 years so far and cites two technical advancements that has made the job easier.

Williams was cited for leadership, his dedication to training, and his ability to recruit new members.

Dennis Williams says he doesn’t volunteer for the accolades, but he does appreciate being named Fireman of the Year. The President of the Iowa Firefighters Association made a special trip to Sioux Rapids to surprise him with the award.
