UPDATE: Since this story aired, KICD News has learned the celebration is being moved to the Sioux Rapids American Legion at 200 Main Street following the Reading Retrospective at the library from 3:15 to 5 p.m.

Sioux Rapids IA, (KICD) –The Sioux Rapids Memorial Library will celebrate its centennial on Saturday.

Library Director Bethany Peat tells KICD News the current name for the facility is honor of those fighting in World War II.

Peat says the celebration itself will have a couple of different points of focus.

Again, the celebration of the Sioux Rapids Memorial Library’s 100th birthday will take place Saturday afternoon.
