Paullina, IA (KICD)– Voters in the South O’Brien School District will be going to the polls in about a month to decide whether or not to approve a bond issue to make some changes and upgrades possible in the schools.
Superintendent Wade Riley tells KICD News the issue is being proposed as one big 25.9 million dollar project that would include taking down a portion of the building in Paullina that dates back to the 1920 and replacing it with some additional space better suited for today’s learning.
Riley says there are also plans to add a more public facility to the existing building.
If this bond issue is approved, there will be some effect on property taxes for those living within the district boundaries.
The special vote on the South O’Brien Schools bond issue is scheduled for Tuesday, March 7th.
