Estherville, IA (KICD)– An Estherville man is facing multiple drug charges after being stopped by police for speeding on Wednesday.

An officer with the Estherville Police Department initiated the stop just west of town on Highway 9 around 4:45 when a marijuana odor could reportedly be smelled coming from the vehicle.

Further investigation led to 38-year-old David Astello being charged with possession of marijuana and marijuana wax, both with intent to deliver, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Emmet County Jail and is being held on eight thousand dollars bond.
