Iowa City, Ia (KICD) – The Spencer Tiger Boys Tennis Team competed at the Class 1A State Team Tennis Tournament in Iowa City on Wednesday. The Tigers faced Wahlert Catholic out of Dubuque, a familiar opponent that the Tigers have struggled to get past in past tournaments, but the two teams first meeting in the Quarter-Finals.

Spencer would lose to Wahlert 5-4, the Tigers first blemish on the season for team scores. Wahlert would lose to Pella 5-0 in the Semifinals and match up with Decorah in the Third place match on Thursday. The Spencer season comes to an end.
