Spencer, IA (KICD)– The City of Spencer is going to in the market for a new staff leader following a resignation announcement Monday night.

City Manager Dan Gifford made it publicly known that he plans to retire later this year after serving in his current role since November of 2021.

No official plans have been laid out as far as what the process will look like to replace Gifford with Human Resources Director Jessica Wright telling KICD News the city wanted to get the retirement plans announced first before getting too deep in the actual search process.
