Vermillion, SD (KICD) – Area schools competed at the Dan Lennon High School Track and Field Meet at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion on Monday.

Here are the top finishers from the Girls Meet. Spencer’s Elli Heisinger was 3rd in the Shot Put with a throw of 37 feet 1.5 inches while teammate Kaylee Rosacker was 4th with a toss of 36 feet 9 inches. Peyton Morey of Spencer was 3rd in the 3200 Meter run with a time of 12:24.03. Jerra Merchant came away with first place in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 8.97. Peyton Morey of Spencer was 4th with a time of 5:54.19 in the 1600m Run. The Spencer 4x200m Relay team of Merchant, Piercy, Hopkins, and Amendt was 1st with a time of 1:51.01. The Spencer 4x400m Relay team of Merchant, Amendt, Vail, and Piercy was 1st with a time of 4:19.97.

Here are the top finishers in the Boys Meet. Spencer’s Jack Berends took 7th in the Boys Long jump with a distance of 19 feet 4.25 inches. Spencer’s Preston Pitts was 8th in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet 9 inches. Spencer’s Kaleb Cline took 4th in the Shot Put with a toss of 48 feet 2 inches. The Spencer “B” team of Tigges, Erdman, Pitts, and Tello took 3rd in the 1600m Medley relay with a time of 3:56.46 while the “A” team of Stanzel, Wessels, Carlson, and Munson was 4th with a time of 3:58.12. Spencer’s Weston Johnson was 7th with a time of 8.93 seconds in the 60 meter Hurdles while teammate Sam Hinkeldey was 8th with a time of 8.99 seconds. Spencer’s Miles Robbins was 2nd with a time of 7.18 seconds and teammate Keaton Stanzel was 6th with a time of 7.32 seconds. The Spencer 4x200m Relay team of Robbins, Wessels, Timmer, and Erdman was 1st with a time of 1:35.98. The Spencer 4x400m Relay team of Timmer, Pitts, Berends, and Carlson was 4th with a time of 3:44.97.
