Spencer, IA (KICD)– Spencer Fire and Rescue is looking at downsizing its current fleet.

Chief Jesse Coulson went before the Public Safety Committee on Monday to ask for approval to start the process of selling a vehicle that is not currently in service for the City of Spencer.

Chief Coulson says now is the time to sell the apparatus in question to give the city a better chance at maximizing its value.

The most recent addition to the Spencer Fire and Rescue fleet was a new engine that was brought into service just over a year ago.
