Spencer, IA (KICD) – The Spencer Tigers Soccer teams each hosted Spirit Lake/Park/Okoboji Tuesday afternoon and evening.
The girls game was initially supposed to be played in Spirit Lake, but due to field conditions, the contest was moved to Spencer. The Tigers had a little bit of a slow start, but really started stringing goals together as they went in to the break with a 6-0 lead. Spencer would find 4 more goals in the second half, knocking in the 10th score of the game late in the 77th minute to end the game with a 10-0 win.
Spencer’s Addison Hoben hit 5 goals in the contest and added 2 assists. Saddie Kahley had 3 goals and a pair of assits as well in the Tigers win. Spencer improves to 2-1 on the year while SLPO falls to 0-1.
The Spencer Tiger Boys came out of the gate quick with 2 goals in the games first 3 minutes. That would be it for the first half though, as SLPO Goalkeeper Eli Robinson really locked down over the next 37 minutes. Spencer would really step up the pressure in the second half though, scoring 6 more goals to finish with an 8-0 win over Spirit Lake/Park/Okoboji.
Owen Olson scored 3 goals and assited on 3 in the contest. Iain MacRae also had 3 assits with a score. Spencer improves to 1-1 on the year while SLPO falls to 0-2.
