Spencer, Ia (KICD) – The Spencer Girls Soccer team took on Spirit Lake/Park/Okoboji on Tuesday at the Northwest Iowa Soccer Field.
The Tigers were able to strike early with Addison Hoben breaking the Ice.
Spencer would follow that goal up with Avery McEntee scoring a few minutes later to make the score 2-0.
Addison Hoben would pick up her 2nd goal of the contest late in the 1st half.
The Tigers took a 3-0 lead going in to the break.
Spencer would pick up the pressure significantly with the wind at their backs in the 2nd half. Avery Metcalf picked up her first high school goal to make it 4-0.
Faith Staedtler would make it 5-0 when her shot took a detour off of a SL/P/O defenders’ shoulder.
Addison Hoben would make it a hat trick for the day and Spencer rolled to a 6-0 victory to open up the 2024 season.
Next up for the Tigers will be a road contest against Bishop Heelan of Sioux City on Thursday. Spirit Lake/Park/Okoboji will play LeMars at home on Thursday.
