Spencer, IA (KICD) — Spencer Mayor Steve Bomgaars has begun his second, two-year term. Goals for the new year include new housing, but also helping current home-owners who can’t afford some basic maintenance.

And – the mayor says – Grand Avenue could use some new Christmas decorations.

Bomgaars says the city of Spencer accomplished some important things in 2023: Development of the North Y, an agreement to expand the movie theatre at Southpark Mall, and new tennis courts that are shared with Spencer Community Schools.
