Spencer, IA (KICD)– Spencer’s Parks and Recreation Department has taken a big jump into spring and summer work with the recent cooperation of Mother Nature.
Director Bob Fullhart tells us the primary focus has been in getting city parks and ball fields ready for the warm season.
Some attention is also hopefully turning to a project at Earl Page Park that has been pushed to the back burner for a little while.
Fullhart adds there has also been some primary discussions on what may happen with the tennis courts at Fairview Park now that a contract has been awarded to build a new set of dual use courts for tennis at pickleball near Spencer Middle School.
That splash pad idea is going to be very dependent on the results of an upcoming pool evaluation at the Spencer Aquatic Center, something that has not been done since 2015.
