Spencer, IA (KICD)– Weather conditions have started to improve over the past several days which has many getting the “toys” out of storage and that has local officials issuing reminders for where they can be operated.
Police Chief Mark Warburton tells KICD News the Spencer ordinance is really fairly lenient as far as golf carts and ATVs being used on city streets until one starts to interact with state operated roads.
There are a few restrictions to who can operate and ATV or UTV as well as some specific equipment that must be operational at night.
Golf carts are a little bit different. Those vehicles can only be operated from sunrise to sunset in Spencer and must contain both a slow moving vehicle sign and a flag similar to those required for mopeds.
