Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Spencer Radio Group went shopping Wednesday morning with the return of the “Grocery Grab”.

Troy Leininger from Clay County Farm Bureau tells KICD’s Kevin Tlam the competition that ultimately benefits Upper Des Moines Opportunity is one way to bring the local aspect into stocking a food pantry while also having some fun.

This year’s competitors, Rhonda Wedeking from Big Country 107.7 and Dawn Dahm from UDMO, were given three minutes to collect as many groceries as they could and when the carts were totaled up UDMO ended up being the true winner with more than eight hundred dollars in items being collected. The competition itself was also a little bit one-sided.
