Spencer, IA (KICD) — Three candidates for two spots on the Spencer school board this fall participated in a forum Wednesday. Dean Mechler is retired from the agronomy industry and is a FORMER school board who would like to serve again.

Incumbent Brea Schmidt owns her own pediatric dental practice.

And CPA Phil Bieber – who was appointed to the board this year – is running for a full term.

 

All three candidates said finding a way to increase staff salaries is a major issue for schools in Iowa.
