Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Iowa Department of Education has released its yearly performance reviews. All three levels of education in Spencer – Elementary, Middle, and High school – tested above the statewide average.
Although the high school tested higher, Director of School Improvement – Angie Hanson – is most pleased with improvement at the three elementary buildings.
Hanson tells KICD News the yearly scores are part of curriculum planning. Reading was a priority last year, Hanson says math will probably be a priority based on this year’s results.
The statewide average test score was 54.81 percent. In spencer the cumulative elementary score was 54.81; the Middle school was 55.41; and the High school was 59.11 percent.
