Spencer Snow Removal Budget

Spencer, IA (KICD) — There’s been snow this winter than the previous two years. Spencer Public Works Director Mark White says they’ve already spent 104 thousand dollars clearning streets, equal to the entire amount they spent last year. Two years ago, operations for the entire winter ran 118 thousand dollars.

In fact, there was so much snow this year: the city was running out of room to haul it.

White says despite the fact it’s been a while since the last snowfall, his crews are still at work daily hauling addition snow out of parking lots, scraping ice off of roadways, and knocking down snowbanks at intersections for better visibility.
