Spencer, IA (KICD)– The City of Spencer’s department heads gave their monthly reports on Monday which included updates from the emergency services side.

Police Chief Mark Warburton noted his officers responded to 946 calls for service with 53 arrests being made in October while also taking part in some additional training.

Fire Chief Jesse Coulson added that his crew answered a wide variety of calls in October.

Many of Spencer’s firefighters were also kept busy last month through outreach as part of Fire Safety Month. Chief Coulson noted members from various ranks were able to reach more than 16 hundred local students over the course of 31 hours of school presentations.
