Spencer, Ia (KICD) – Spencer’s Jerra Merchant signed her Letter of Intent to compete in Track and Field at Northern Iowa Tuesday at Spencer High School. A few schools were looking to sign the State Champion Hurdler, but the coach made the big difference for Merchant in her decision.

When looking back on Merchants career, Spencer Girls Track and Field Coach Al Pierce said the State Championship 100m Hurdle Race stuck out the most.

Merchant said her favorite memories in High School are the little things

 

Coach Valerie Hamilton was always impressed by Merchant’s work ethic.

Merchant want’s to focus on her mentality and schoolwork going in to the next level.
