Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)– The Spirit Lake Community School District has named a new interim principal for the elementary school.

Jessica Vancura has been with the school district for going on seven years, most recently serving as the Assistant Principal under Kasey Huebner who announced earlier this month that he is leaving to become the Superintendent for the Panorama School District.

Spirit Lake Superintendent Dr. David Smith notes it would have been difficult to find an administrator because of timing with the upcoming school year which is why the district opted to go the interim route for right now.
