Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– A St. Paul man has reached a plea deal just days before his trial on multiple sexual assault related charges was set to begin.

Online court records show 41-year-old Ka Toe entered an Alford plea last week to one count each of second degree sexual abuse, lascivious acts with a child and incest. The plea means the defendant does not admit guilt to the crime but indicates there would be enough evidence for a jury to convict.

Toe turned himself in to police in June after being accused of having sexual contact with a child in a Storm Lake home on multiple occasions between January 2019 and March 2020.

Sentencing is set to take place in January with Toe facing up to 40 years in prison.
