Spencer, IA (KICD) — This has been an unusual month regarding weather and especially precipitation. State climatologist, Justin Glisan, gave some information on this unusually wet month.
June is normally the wettest month of the year, but this year was within the top ten wettest on record. Glisan talks more about what led to the flooding here in Spencer.
Glisan also tells us more about what to expect in the coming months.
Glisan says with some increased tempatures, decreased humidity, and wind soil saturation could go back to normal. He ended the interview by saying they expect a 10 to 15 percent increase in moisture in the next 10 to 20 years, so if you don’t already have one, a sump-pump could be a good investment.
