Des Moines, IA (Radio Iowa)– A state panel has made a slight reduction in its tax predictions for next fiscal. Iowa Department of Management Director Kraig Paulsen says the Revenue Estimating Conference believes the state will collect more than 11 billion dollars for Fiscal Year 2025.
The panel also has a new member in Jeff Plagge, a Dickinson County banker, that retired late last year as the State Superintendent of Banking.
House Democrats say it’s time to make public schools a priority and Friday’s financial report shows there is no reason for Republicans to keep delaying a decision on how much the state will spend on education.
