Des Moines, IA (KICD) — Iowa Workforce Development has released the county unemployment figures for the month of July. Pocahontas and Osceola Counties maintain the lowest levels in the KICD Broadcast area at 2.1 percent, both down from 2.2 percent in June.

Last July Osceola County ranked lowest at 1.9 percent and Pocahontas County logged 2.2 percent.
Dickinson and O’Brien Counties are the next lowest at 2.4 percent unemployment. That’s unchanged from June in Dickinson County and up just point one percent for the year. O’Brien county is down point one percent for the month and up point one percent for the year.

Cherokee county is at two and a half, same as last month and up point three from last year. Palo Alto is also at two and a half, up point one percent for the month and point 3 percent year over year.

Clay and Buena Vista County’s joblessness was 3 percent in the most recent figures available. That’s up point 2 percent for the month and half a percent for Clay; and up point one percent for the month and even with last year for BV.

Emmet County once again has the highest unemployment rate in the area at 3.5 percent, up from 3 percent in June and 3.1 percent in July of 2022.
