Coralville, Ia (KICD) – Class 5A and 4A played their State Quarterfinal Volleyball matches to kick off the State Tournament.

In Class 5A, #1 Dowling Catholic of West Des Moines beat #8 Valley of West Des Moines 3-1 and will advance to the Semi-Final where they will see #4 Pleasant Valley who beat #5 Johnston 3-1. #2 Centennial of Ankeny topped Ankeny 3-2 and will advance to the Semi-Finals where they will see #3 Northwest of Waukee who beat #6 Cedar Falls 3-1.

For Class 4A, #1 Clear Creek Amana shutout #8 Norwalk 3-0 and will advance to the Semi-Finals to play #4 North Scott who topped #5 ADM 3-1. #2 Indianola edged out #7 Marion 3-2 and will advance to the Semi-Finals to play #6 Lewis Central of Council Bluffs who upset #3 Xavier of Cedar Rapids 3-2.
