Coralville, Ia (KICD) – Day 2 of the State Volleyball Tournament was played in Coralville on Tuesday with 3A, 2A, and 1A on the courts.

In Class 3A, #1 Mount Vernon swept #8 Wahlert Catholic of Dubuque 3-0 and will advance to play #4 Assumption of Davenport in the Semi-Final who topped Des Moines Christian 3-0. #2 Cherokee lost to #7 Union Community 3-0. Union will advance to the Semi-Final where they will see #3 Western Christian of Hull who beat #6 Center Point-Urbana 3-1.

For Class 2A, #1 Dike-New Hartford shut-out Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 3-0 and will advance to the Semi-Final to play #4 Denver who beat Conference foe #5 Sumner-Fredricksburg 3-0. #2 Hinton topped Aplington-Parkersburg 3-0 and will play #3 Grundy Center in the Semi-Final who downed #6 Kuemper Catholic of Carroll 3-1.

Class 1A had #1 Ankeny Christian beat #8 Newell-Fonda 3-1 and will play #4 BCLUW in the Semi-Finals who won a thriller against #5 Saint Ansgar 3-2. #2 Boyden-Hull prevailed over #7 Saint Albert of Council Bluffs 3-1 and will match up with #3 Holy Trinity Catholic of Cedar Rapids in the Semi-Finals who beat #6 Don Bosco of Gilbertville 3-0.
