Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– The Storm Lake City Council is the latest local entity wanting to explore options for electric vehicle chargers

The idea was brought up at the end of Monday’s regular meeting by Councilman Kevin McKiney that he would like to see some research into potentially having a charger or two in the area of Kings Pointe Resort.

Councilwoman Maggie Martinez adds that bringing charging stations to Storm Lake will likely help grow community engagement with visitors.

City staff has unsuccessfully applied for grants to help pay for electric vehicle charging stations and have essentially been instructed to keep searching.
