Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– A Storm Lake man is facing an attempted murder charge as part of an investigation from earlier this month.

The initial case arose on October 8th when the Storm Lake Police Department was called to a local convenience store to a report of crash where officers then learned multiple men had forcibly entered the vehicle involved and punched the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Police were later able to identify 20-year-old Tailor Khamtanh as a suspect with original charges of second degree burglary, rioting, assault while participating in a felony and simple assault being filed two days after the incident.

Further investigation reportedly revealed that Khamtanh had allegedly chased the victim on foot several weeks prior to the incident while also firing multiple rounds from a handgun that led to the most recent arrest for attempted murder, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held in the Buena Vista County Jail on 50 thousand dollars bond.
