Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– National Night Out, a campaign set up to bring not only communities together but also to enable an interaction among emergency officials, will be returning to Storm Lake on Tuesday evening.
Police Chief Chris Cole tells KICD News community outreach is an important piece to his department’s public safety plan which is why National Night Out is a great opportunity to build a positive relationship between officers and public.
Communities around the country that take part in National Night Out have different ways of bringing people together. In Storm Lake, Chief Cole says it ends up being a number of similar, but also different, events around town.
National Night Out is observed annually around the United States on the first Tuesday of August.
