Marcus, IA (KICD)– Three people have been charged in a multiple month drug investigation in Cherokee County.
The Marcus Police Department begin looking into the matter in early April after illegal substances were allegedly discovered when officers responded to a disturbance call at a home in the 300 block of North Maple Street.
A subsequent search led to the seizure of multiple controlled substances including methamphetamine marijuana, prescription pills and some unknown pills that were later determined to be additional methamphetamine by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory.
As a results of these findings, Hunter Bentz, 48-year-old Melony Jackson and 38-year-old Matthew Mulder were all arrested earlier this month and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Jackson and Mulder were additional charged with possession of methamphetamine and prohibited acts while Bentz was further charged with possession of marijuana.
This incident remains under investigation.
