Spencer, Ia (KICD) – The Spencer Swim Team competed in the 2nd half of a back to back against Perry on Tuesday night at the Spencer Family YMCA.

The Tigers started the night off with a win in the 200y Medley Relay. Emily Quanbeck, Lily Gross, Ella Kasperbauer, and Brooklyn Ferguson teamed up for a time of 1:59.08.

Ferguson would win the 50y Freestyle with a time of 25.88 seconds.

Quanbeck, Emma Storms, Gross, and Ferguson would place 1st in the 200y Freestyle with a time of 1:48.38.

Quanbeck would come back with a win in the 100y Backstroke with a time of 1:06.14. She was happy to drop time from the night before.

The Tigers came away with the win 96-73 over Perry. It was Spencer’s second meet in a row, and Kamdyn Van Gelder, a Distance Swimmer, put in a lot of yards over the 2 days.

The Tigers will be back in the pool this weekend to cap off a busy week in Omaha. Coach Amy Lawrence says there is no time to let up.

Brooklyn Ferguson found herself swimming against Perry’s top athlete in Quin Mahler-Moreno in a couple of relays. Mahler Moreno at one points swam 3 races in a row, including the 500y Free. Ferguson talked about the competition.
