Storm Lake, Ia (KICD) – The Spencer Tiger Girls, GTRA, Harris-Lake Park, and West Bend-Mallard Track and Field teams competed at the BVU High School Elite Indoor Meet on Friday in Storm Lake. Here are the top finishers for KICD area schools.

In the Girls Meet Spencer’s Shuttle hurdle relay team of Merchant, Hamilton, Hopkins, and Stave took 1st in the Girls 4x60m Shuttle Hurdle Relay with a time of 40.45. The Spencer 1600m Medley Relay team of Vail, Piercy, Amendt, and Morey took 3rd with a time of 4:36.14. The Spencer 4x800m Relay team of Morey, Palmer, Hamilton and Schoelerman was 1st with a time of 11:06.32. Spencer’s Jerra Merchant won the 60m Hurdles, clocking a Meet Record and the #3 fastest time in Iowa at 9.22 seconds. Spencer’s Khia Koenig placed 3rd in the 60m Dash with a time of 8.47 seconds while teammate Shaylee Sutherland was 8th with a time of 8.7 seconds. The Spencer 4x200m Relay team of Merchant, Piercy, Vail, and Amendt was 1st with a time of 1:51.49. In the 1500m run Spencer’s Peyton Morey was 3rd with a time of 5:32.6. Spencer’s Jerra Merchant was 1st in the 400m Dash with a time of 1:02.29 which places her at #23 in the State. The Spencer Girls took the top 2 spots in the 200m Dash with Erika Amendt placing 1st with a time of 27.71 seconds, good for #20 in the State of Iowa, and Sydnee Hopkins was second with a time of 28.39, good for 44th in the State. Spencer would also take the top 2 spots in the Shot Put with Kaylee Rosacker placing 1st with a throw of 36 feet 1.75 inches which ranks #12 in the State and Elli Heisinger was 2nd with a toss of 35 feet 11.5 inches which is #14th in the State.

In the Boys Meet GTRA’s Aiden Egertson was 5th in the 800m Run with a time of 2:14.77.
